The REMSAFE remote isolation system can reduce the downtime to isolate fixed plant to less than three minutes, with de-isolation the same or less. This indicative calculator converts the time REMSAFE can save on isolations into profit on one piece of equipment. It also indicates how long it could take for the investment in REMSAFE to be fully returned.
The calculator is based on materials handling equipment, such as a conveyor, that requires safe, verified isolation with a manual lockout before it can be accessed for planned or unplanned tasks. Six minutes (0.10 hours) has been allowed to isolate and de-isolate using REMSAFE.
